Yellow: Not So Mellow…

By Thread Said

…when it is your wedding dress. And just the Two of You, in the middle of perfect nowhere paradise. (In this case: The Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.)

Well done, Samantha & Allan!

Best Store Ever?

By Thread Said

When planning a wedding, a bride often finds herself frantically scouring the internet for the most random of things, such as BURLAP BAGS. Or MERCURY GLASS VOTIVE HOLDERS. Things that don’t seem like they would, in theory, be that hard to find or that expensive, but are, in reality, often either totally non-existent or ridiculously expensive. Enter the savior of all wedding saviors: Jamali Garden. (Respectful pause.) Jamali Garden is one of those unassuming gems of a store that only seems to exist in NYC, a store filled to the brim of its too-small space with everything from fertilizer to tomato plants to faux patches of grass to, you guessed it, mercury glass votive holders. Inexpensive mercury glass votive holders. And so, so much more. And the Jamali Garden website? Even better, even more chockful, than the brick and mortar store.

Now wipe away those happy tears, all you brides-to-be out there, and tell us which amazing, I-didn’t-even-know-I-needed-that-for-my-wedding-but-I-do nugget you buy first.

(Shop Jamali Garden here. Above, clockwise from left: Artificial glass clusters, aforementioned burlap bags, table number frames, beloved mercury glass votive holders.)

Good Day Sunshine

By Thread Said

What a crisp, cheery & chic wedding, no? We just love the way the punchy yellow –  the dresses, the boutonnieres — pulls everything together in a perfect nod to the glorious locale – Key West. (Key West in January? How lucky were THOSE guests?!)

Congratulations, Kristin & Everett!

The Bridal Shoe: Reimagined by Nicholas Kirkwood, Brought to Our Attention by Vogue.com

By Thread Said

(Cue low whistle here.) Are these not the most exquisite shoes you have ever seen in your life? Or….  is this one of those deals where you obsess over something beautiful and fashion-y until it is your moment to be the bride, and then freak out at the last minute and get something more safe boring traditional? You tell us. And, yes, this is a challenge.

(More pretty shoes here, in Vogue.com’s Wedding Guide. And a whole lot more.)
