On A Scale of 1 – 10…

By Thread Said

…how:

- cute is this wedding party?

- happy does each girl look? Especially the beautiful bride?

- chic are the mix-y but match-y bridesmaid dresses?

- badly do you wish you were on that breezy, summer-y dock at this very moment? (Locale of said dock: Charlestown, Maryland. Heaven.)

Yeah: Ten for us for all of the above, too. Congratulations, Sunni and Timothy – on getting married AND for throwing what looks like a great party.

(The bridesmaids wear a variety of styles from our Destination Collection in blue cotton seersucker.)

Done & Done: The Registry Edition.

By Thread Said

Registries. As we’ve discussed before, registering is no small feat. Until now. We’ve long heard praises sung for MyRegistry.com, but it wasn’t until Nicole finally decided to get it together and register for her own wedding that we saw just how deserved all that praise was. The site is, simply, a godsend for the busy bride: You can add any item available for sale online to one comprehensive registry site with just one click of the mouse. And, as Nicole found out in a gleeful and frenzied afternoon of hopping from Barneys.com to MomaStore.org to UncommonGoods.com, it really is that easy.

(Get started here.)

Bridal Market!

By Thread Said

Another market come and gone, and it was a delightful success! Can’t wait to show you the new dresses (think: floaty ballerina-y bridesmaids!), but until then… a sneak peek for you!

(You like? Martha Stewart Weddings sure did…)

Variations on a Theme.

By Thread Said

Our pal Ashley got hitched last August, and we are loving what she did with her bridesmaid dresses: Slightly different colors, slightly different styles, one cohesive overall feel. Bridesmaids that aren’t overly bridesmaid-y.

Recently engaged gals (and friends-of), take note: This is one foolproof way to keep your party from being anything but cookiecutter.

(Ashley’s lovely ladies wear various styles from the Party Collection in different shades of nude and peach. And can we discuss the fun picture props? A farmer!)

Well Suited.

By Thread Said

Instead of spending a grand on an off-the-rack suit or tux, why not spend just a wee bit more and get one custom made? After all, if there ever was a time to get a suit custom made for your hubby-to-be, this–your wedding–would be it. This is the realization Nicole came to after spending an especially long Saturday dragging her fiance in and out of every store in Soho, and she hasn’t looked back since. She went to Michael Andrews Bespoke, a very cool, er, bespoke-ery just off of Great Jones Street, and couldn’t be more relieved to have a knowledgeable (and well-dressed) associate in charge of making sure her groom looks impeccable on their Big Day–all for a couple hundred dollars more than the ill-fitting suit they almost bought at Bloomingdales only hours before.

(Michael Andrews Bespoke. Suits start at $995. Yep.)
