Bridesmaids, Glamour-style.

By Thread Said

Screen shot 2010-12-22 at 5.43.05 PM

Thought we’d close out the year (!!) with one of the chic-er weddings we’ve seen in 2010. It’s our beautiful pal Lauren from Glamour, and not only did she mix and match styles, fabrics and colors for her bridesmaids’ dresses, she also mixed up the dress designers. (Can you spy our Shiloh and Raven styles?) Talk about good fashion advice.

Congratulations, Lauren & John!

Why Get Married in the Winter?

By Thread Said

Well, for one: You can wear something as over-the-top fabulous as a white feathered shrug, and not only will people not laugh at you (like they might in real life), they will go as far as getting the chills when they see you, marveling at what a perfectly stunning winter bride you make.

And for two–well, actually, we’re stopping here. We, personally, are sold.

(The feathered number above is Alberta Ferretti, available here. For a slightly less expensive take on the look, check this Joie one out, and for more winter wedding inspiration, revisit Melissa’s to-die-for New Years in New York wedding.)

Pretty Maids All in a Row.

By Thread Said

Screen shot 2010-12-10 at 5.29.13 PM

As you all know by now, we at Thread positively swoon with excitement whenever a bride takes a step away from the norm when dressing her bridesmaids. And that is precisely what this beautiful bride, Emily, did with her gals. Emily fell in love with the Grey Cotton Stripe print from Thread Social’s Spring 201o collection, and decided to snatch up a few dresses in each style for her bridesmaids. The results–well, the results speak for themselves. What a perfect summer wedding, no?

(Ed. note: Yes, we are sadly sold out of the majority of these styles. We DO, however, happen to have the full-length in stock and on sale, to boot, for $200 a pop. Cute pics from Brooklyn Bride.)
