Weird, But Cool.

By Thread Said

Why, pray tell, would you get a standard, run o’ the mill wedding band for your groom-to-be when you could get one that boasts the silhouette of your face? Or vice versa? Yes, your face: Take a good look at the ridging and whatnot on the rings pictured above. See the slope of a forehead, the upturn of a nose, the double-bump of a lip? A face.

So, we say: Weird, yes, but cool. “Oh, you haven’t met my wife? Well, she has brown hair, and… hey wait! I have this ring here…”

(Silhouette rings, and bangles, and more, available here.)

Simplicity At It’s Best.

Not all brides are bridezillas (hear, hear!) and not all weddings are out-of-control, over-the-top affairs. How beautifully understated is this bride? And how cozy, intimate and special does that venue look? Proof, to us, that it’s the simple things in life that do matter.

(The bride, if you were wondering, is the lovely Talya, and she is wearing our Melanie in ivory faille. The venue is the Mermaid Inn in NYC’s East Village.)

Talk about…

… nailing the ol’ bridesmaid mix and match, no? This adorable bride switched up not just the styles of her bridesmaids’ dresses, but the colors and fabrics as well, and the cheery result is an overall look that is cohesive, not cookie-cutter. Well done, Bridget– and congratulations!

Let the Fun Begin.

It’s a truth universally acknowledged that the fun part of wedding planning comes after all the biggies are taken care of–you know, the date, the location, the band, the dress. This, after all, is the moment where the bride (and, oh yeah, the groom) truly personalizes her (and his) wedding. We’re talking those thoughtful little touches that make guests ooh and ahh throughout the day, be it, say, personalized goody bags waiting in the hotel room, or initial-ed wooden stirrers during cocktail hour. Or a bowl of customized matchboxes by the door for your, er, fun-loving friends. The possibilities are endless, really.

The only challenge might be sifting through the hundreds upon hundreds of options available out there, but lucky for all of us, we came across all of these things–and much more–on ForYourParty.com, an easy-to-navigate site that will serve as your one-stop, personalize-your-wedding shop. Done and done.
